1 Year into XD
The thing I despise most about learning a new online system is the phrase, “user error.” For most of my life, I thought I wasn’t “good at technology.” I was working as a Management Consultant and did a lot of Business Analyst work for technology companies. I started to realize that the user error I so often experienced was actually a systems error (by systems I mean the process of creating and building an online interface.) I hated testing new systems, creating requirements, and attempting to create an effective training plan for the poor souls forced to use this product. I thought, “how could I get involved in the early stages of a product and design something that’s actually helpful and usable to real people?” I read The Design of Everyday Things, and suddenly, my world became much wider. Transitioning to XD prevented me from moving to Guatemala as an English teacher. Quarter-life crisis averted, I’m so thankful and surprised by what I’ve learned, and how I want to grow in this craft.
Oh yea.

With so much information on the internet about UX/UI/Graphic Design/XD/Visual Design, it can be really daunting to choose a program or start a learning course. Talk about decision fatigue and information overload.
You should probably only take an online course about XD from a site that follows UX best practices.
